What is Krav Maga?
Krav Maga is a form of martial arts that was developed in the 1940s by the Israeli Army to be used for physical training and real-world self defence. It incorporates a wide range of techniques from other forms of marital arts, such as Muay Thai and Aikido, as well as wresting, boxing, and street fighting. Since its development, it has been primarily used to train military forces and law enforcement agencies around the world.
Krav Maga was modified for civilian training in 1964. It is a simple, yet effective martial arts form for self defence. The goal of Krav Maga is to teach students to avoid confrontation whenever possible, but if put into a situation where this is not possible, how to counterattack and neutralize the attacker, as quickly as possible.

Being a certified member of KMC, our schools teach students based on the modernized and updated curriculum that KMC employs at all of their affiliate schools. The curriculum is taught based on the belt system with students have the opportunity to move through the rankings from White belt to Black belt. For most of our students, it takes about 3-5 years of constant and ongoing training to reach black belt level.
Are There Any Prerequisites or Prior Training Required for Krav Maga Classes?
Unlike other marital arts classes in Toronto& Mississauga, students are not required to have any prior training or natural abilities. In fact, many instructors find students pick up techniques and skills easier when they do not have any other martial arts training. However, this is not to say students with other martial arts training cannot learn Krav Maga. Students with prior martial arts training also fair well since they already know some of the techniques used in Krav Maga.
Krav Maga is perfect for any fitness level, too, even if you have not done any sort of walking, jogging, weight lifting, or other exercise in years.
